The ponding of excess iron production from the blast furnace, by pouring liquid iron into a bay from a torpedo car or iron ladle
When there is a surplus of molten iron produced (more than the requirement for the specific casting) the excess is transported, via torpedo cars or iron ladles, and tipped into various pits. Our solutions ensure that the tipping and cooling of the molten iron is environmentally controlled. Once solidified, it is either broken up into small fragments to be sold or transported back to the steel making process for re-use at a later stage.
